NH Bar Association Law Related Education | Law Related Education Announcements | "Leapholes" Project to Receive ABA Award The NH Bar's pilot project for middle school students, centered on the James Grippando novel, Leapholes, will receive the 2008 LexisNexis Community & Educational Outreach Award for innovation and excellence. Read more.
Nine groups of middle school students (six public schools, a parochial school, a Montessori school, and a home-school group) participated, receiving copies of the book, which takes readers on a trip through time to visit the actual figures in famous civil rights cases. On May 21, 2008, the author, a best-selling novelist and an attorney, visited with students from two schools who had prepared projects related to the book. The schools were Timberlane Regional Middle School and Belmont Middle School. Read about the event.

| Law Day “This year, America celebrates Law Day for the 50th time. Now as then, advancing the rule of law is our best strategy to advance human development in a dangerous world.”
~ABA President William Neukom Many lawyers from New Hampshire are heeding that call. In honor of Law Day this year, the NH Bar Association is working to create greater awareness of the work of these lawyers and judges. | Law Related Education News | CONGRATULATIONS! Fairgrounds Middle High School
Nashua, NH "Styrofoam, You're Going Home", a portfolio created by students Elaine Kwan, Lee-Ann Kalenoski, Allison Thompson, Cameron Rogers, Ethan Boghigian and Cesar Dominquez from Fairgrounds Middle High School, was recognized as a "Superior" example of Public Policy at the Project Citizen State Showcase on May 16. The Portfolio will now be showcased at the National Conference of State Legislatures Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana July 22 - 25, 2008.

| Mission Statement & Introduction | Law Related Education (LRE) encompasses a variety of programs for students in grades K-12, designed to teach students about law, the legal system, and the fundamental principles upon which our constitutional democracy is based. Activities are intended to foster partnerships between schools and attorneys who volunteer their time for educational purposes.
The Law Related Education Program is directed by the Law Related Education Coordinator, along with committees relating to the individual LRE programs. The program began in 1985 and now serves over 50,000 students and teachers in New Hampshire. LRE provides curriculum resources, development and educational opportunities, interactive projects with attorneys, law firms, and schools across New Hampshire.
